Postdoctoral Researcher, ETH Zurich
Welcome!
My name is Sarah Spycher and I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at ETH Zurich as a part of the Sustainability Economics Group. I completed my PhD in 2023 at the University of Bern and then spent two years at the University of Bologna as a SNSF-funded Postdoctoral Researcher.
In my research, I am interested in how political economy frictions hinder more successful environmental policy. As such, I primarily work at the intersection of environmental economics and political economy, using both theoretical and experimental approaches.

I’m very excited to be joining the newly established Sustainability Economics Group at ETH Zurich. Find more details here.
I had the pleasure of speaking as a panelist at this year's GSFN Summer Meet — a very informative and engaging event, and a great opportunity to share my experiences as a Postdoc.Mobility Fellow.
In June, I attended the EAERE conference in Bergen and the SSES Annual Congress in Zurich, and presented our newest experimental results.
Incredibly honoured to be included in the "Political Economics of Environmental Sustainability Conference" at Stanford University in February.
